WHAT OUR GUESTS HAVE TO SAY ABOUT OUR HOTEL
REVIEWS TAKEN DIRECTLY FROM TRIP ADVISOR
CONVENIENT LOCATION AND CLEAN
Excellent value for the cost of stay. Very helpful and friendly staff. Clean rooms. Within easy walking distance to downtown Cape Town. We preferred to stay in this location rather than the waterfront as it is more central. The room was spacious and nicely decorated.
Surrounding area appeared very safe and worry free.
Room Tip: All rooms are good as they either face the street or the back side. the street is quite at night.
Ignore reviews before October 2014, the place has had a great refurb, and the restaurant is well worth a visit now - fresh, excellent quality & value. Same goes for the wines - everything by the glass, so reasonable for tourist area, plus inspired selection. Only ate here, didn’t stay, so can’t comment on rooms.
NEWLY RENOVATED HOTEL
Friends invited me for dinner at the newly renovated Cape Town Hollow Restaurant. What a surprise to find good food served in a fresh environment. Make sure to give this one a try. The menu caters for a wide audience with a some mouth watering dishes and even a local “babotie”. 5 star dining without the price to match.
WONDERFUL STAY AND WILL BE BACK
Myself and two friends recently spent 3 days in Cape town on business. We had an awesome stay at the Cape town hollow boutique hotel. Our neat and well serviced rooms looked out onto the Cape Town landmark : Table mountain - which can only be a wonderful wake up call daily for any local or international tourist. The hotel staff were professional and very friendly and went out of there way to make our stay a memorable one. The hotel is situated very centrally with regards to a great variety of night life, the planetarium, table mountain etc (ideal for any tourist) During our stay we spent some time at the Hollow on the square in order to look at the option of booking a group of approx 90 in April. The General manager gave us a very thorough tour of the hotel and all amenities available for our group. What an impressive 4 star hotel. A big thank you must go to the General Manager Paul Bruce-Brand and his staff for there amazing hospitality and for making us feel so welcome. We will most certainly be back.. suzie
EXCELLENT SERVICE, VALUE FOR MONEY IN CENTRAL CAPE TOWN
What a wonderful experience! We flew into Cape Town at 8am and made our way to the hotel. The staff at Reception of the Cape Town Hollow boutique hotel were friendly and professional - we checked in and as the rooms were not yet ready they stored our luggage and we had coffee in the restaurant while we planned our day. The Hotel is centrally located to all Cape Town amenities and just a short car/cab trip to the Cape Town International Convention Centre. There is also a hop on/hop off bus stop nearby. The beautiful Gardens are just across from the hotel, valet parking service (what a treat!), truly excellent food from the restaurant - their fresh fish is wonderful and the cheese platter with dried mango makes a wonderful room-service delivered “midnight snack”. My bathroom was spotless, the bed linen soft cotton and the aircon worked beautifully. I had a wonderful view of Table Mountain from my room - what a view to wake up to (no one overlooks the rooms so you can sleep with the curtains open too!)
I would happily recommend the Cape Town Hollow Hotel to anyone looking for a good value, excellent service experience.
LOVED THIS HOTEL
Friendly staff, excellent service, and great location! We went with a group and they had very comfortable sleeping arrangements. Food in the cafe downstairs was excellent and the room included a wonderful breakfast every morning. Staff was friendly and attentive. I would definitely stay here again!
GREAT SERVICE, VERY FRIENDLY HELPFUL STAFF
I stayed in the Cape Town Hollow hotel for two weeks on a recent work related H&S course with a number of different nationalities involved. This was my second stay in Cape Town and by far this hotel beat the rivals for quality and service.
The business centre was very good and the Hotel service was personal and to a high standard. The Hotel provided a three course lunch menu for the course which was different every day without repetitive meals and to a good standard. I had a mountain view room on the fourth floor and the internet was both fast and without down time.
The Bar after a hard day in the business centre was cosmopolitan with very good staff providing local knowledge. All in all I would recommend this Hotel for business as well as pleasure.
A GREAT PLACE TO STAY
A lovely hotel with superb views of Table Mountain and the Company Gardens opposite. Ideally situated for the city centre and safe to walk to and from compared to many other hotels that are rated higher. Convenient car parking direclty opposite the hotel. We stayed here whilst taking part in the Cycletour and the staff provide secure cycle storage and also provide pre event meals to cater for the riders needs. Pavement cafe is a nice feature where you can sip a cool beer whilst taking in the mountain view
Liked — Superb decor in room and mountain view
FRIENDLY HOTEL, GREAT LOCATION
We thoroughly enjoyed our 5 nights here. We had excellent advice from Norman Stevens long before we departed from the UK & he arranged an airport collection at a reasonable 300rand - about £25. Check in was efficient, the room was great - how come people moan about the small rooms - and with an excellent view of Table Mountain. We asked for this view and got it - the first of many requests that were all met with efficiency. The restaurant has a varied menu at very reasonable prices and the buffet breakfast has a very wide choice and as much as you can eat - so much so we rarely needed a lunch! Opposite are the Company's gardens, a lovely area to stroll in and just around the corner is Long St with numerous bars & restaurants and just beyond that is the city centre - a mere 15 minute walk away. Above all one of the stops on the superb open top bus tour (red route) is opposite the hotel. This too is fully recommended and is one of the better such bus tours we've experienced. If you buy a 2 day ticket you must go on the sunset tour and on the blue tour the TEA BAG FACTORY is an absolute must!
Cannot recommend this hotel enough for location, service, food and general amenities.
Room Tip: Ask for Table Mountain view - must be 3rd floor or above AND ask Norman Stevens for advice / info before you get there.
