OYSTER FESTIVAL CYCLE WEEKEND *****

My family and I found Knysna Hollow to be a really great place to stay. It offers a really great standard of accommodation as well as privacy in a beautiful setting. Breakfasts were wonderful and abundant and you can even hire bicycles (urban bikes) to get into the village which is conveniently close by.

All in all a lovely stay made comfortable by the friendly and helpful staff who also quickly and efficiently got all our laundry done.

WE WOULD HAVE LIKED TO STAY LONGER *****

Sadly we could only stay at the Knysna Hollow for two nights as we were on a strict timetable but both my wife Sharon & I really enjoyed our stay, were very impressed by everything, especially the wonderful, friendly & most helpful staff. Our cottage was wonderful, comfortable, clean & had everything we could have possibly needed, all of which meant that we found it easy to simply relax. Our visit to the Knysna Hollow & the beautiful area was far too short & we fully plan to return, next time fully intending to make our visit much longer.

IDYLLIC PLACE *****

Lovely hotel stayed here for two nights. Rooms very clean and spacious staff very friendly. Would definitely return to this hotel if staying in this area again. Gardens were beautiful and tidy despite the onset of the winter! Kynsna itself is very clean and only about a 15 minute walk from this hotel into Knysna. A visit to the Featherbed Nature reserve is a must.

FAMILY FRIENDLY ****

We are very pleased with the service offering from the reservations to the actual stay. We also had a late request to accommodate an extra child and the reservations team offered the accommodation at no additional cost - thank you!

Room Tip: We enjoyed the family unit with the fireplace - lovely warm!

BEAUTIFUL *****

We thoroughly enjoyed our 2 night stay at Knysna Hollow, having stayed in her sister hotel in Kruger we knew we were in for a treat and was not disappointed. The rooms were comfortable and well set out. The bathrooms of a good size, having the most amazing double shower! The food here was divine with a great array of wines to choose from. In the afternoon it was great to set the chairs out on our little stoep with a coffee and just take in the sounds and smells of South Africa. In a great location within Knysna marina. If you get a chance have a bubble gum or lime milkshake from the shops at the harbour they were amazing!

FANTASTIC... *****

We stayed over at the Knysna Hollows hotel for 3 days and from the initial booking with Claudine to the time that we arrived, we were treated like VIP guests. The rooms of our garden chalet was very spacious with a very large bathroom and a long double shower that the 2 young boys absolutely loved. The bedrooms was very neat and our garden chalet was right next to the pool...certainly a recommendation.

The rondavel (hut shaped) chalets all have names of indigenous birdlife and the outlay of the chalets with ample flora of the area complimenting this added greatly to the peaceful setting.

Breakfast was excellent and something that I looked forward to and we all thoroughly enjoyed. The hotel is set just of the N2 (national highway) and is a few kilometers outside of the town of Knysna which means that you’re away from the hustle and bustle. The hotel is very family orientated although our only slightly bad experience was with a tourist who wanted to swim/train lengths in the hotel pool whilst my two boys was just trying to have a swim and she thought they were getting in her way but thankfully we were able to resolve this without hotel management’s intervention. We were rather sad to leave at the end of our stay but this is a place that I will most certainly re-visit.

KNYSNA HOLLOW - A MUST IF STAYING IN/NEAR KNYSNA *****

Lovely hotel in delightful, quiet location yet convenient for downtown Knysna.

Very good food/service in the restaurant, which is good value. Excellent choice of wines also.

Great facilities, spa treatments available but we didn’t have time so cannot speak for these, although likely in keeping with the rest of the hotel so should be very good.

AN OASIS FOR A CONFERENCE *****

We held our annual sales & marketing conference at Knysna Hollow in Jan 2013. It really was such a great venue to have a conference at. The peaceful garden setting is stunning, especially as a break between sessions, or at the end of the day. The three swimming pools, offer a refreshing dip on a hot summer’s day. Cuisine is of a high standard, but it is also a short 5min drive to Thesen Island and a variety of great restaurants. The chalet I stayed in had its own lounge with fireplace and a newly renovated bathroom. It is just a 5min walk to the Knysna Lagoon and another 20min walk to the Knysna Waterfront. The hotel does not have a gym, but I particularly enjoyed running along the lagoon in the mornings. The conference room had all the required technology.

STAY IN KNYSNA *****

A well placed hotel on the N2 just before Knysna. Situated in a well appointed estate with thatch cottages and two out door swimming pools. We paid for a suite which was very comfortable with a large bathroom (two hand bowls) and comfortable beds. The breakfast was good, everything you would want with eggs or omlette cooked fresh on the griddle. The restaurant was very good value and the deck good for a lunch time snack. We stayed for 8 nights and found the location great for getting out and around the area. Can recommend without hesitation.

A PERFECT ENDING TO A BAD START *****

After a disastrous first night at another lagoon lodge, we were booked into the Hollow - such a saving grace for a long planned 3 night getaway. The reception staff were very helpful - always with a smile. The waiter service exceptional (it is unusual to find properly trained waiters).

The attractive gardens were well maintained and a pleasure to wander through.

Our garden room was very comfortable with a double bed, 2 comfortable chairs indoors and patio furniture on which to enjoy early morning coffee if the sun.

A most enjoyable stay - thank you to all the management and staff - we will most certainly be returning.

EXTREMELY PEACEFUL AND RELAXING! *****

I will definitely return, staff are very friendly and helpful, accommodation is clean and neat! Love the large double shower we had in our room! The poolside service makes you feel like royalty, the location is just outside of the centre of knysna, tucked away between some hills, protecting you from the crazy busy knysna during the holiday season! A true escape! Will be the only place I stay when travelling past knysna from now on!

A REALLY COMFORTABLE PLACE TO HANG OUT - BEAUTIFUL SETTING *****

We stayed here 2 nights on our journey from Cape Town to Port Elizabeth.

Thatched roof bungalows were elegant and welcoming and facing a large swimming pool that was clean and inviting.

Our room was very attractive, clean and quite large. There was a double shower, very cool.

The restaurant was excellent; good food and service.

HAPPY RETURNS *****

Having visited Knysna Hollow in 2012 on a coach tour, we decided to come back independently. Everything was perfect from the location and rooms to the staff and the restaurant. With such a peaceful setting in beautiful gardens and with so many activities available in the area we cannot wait to return.

AN AMAZING SEMINAR VENUE! *****

Knysna Hollow and all its staff have the perfect set up for seminars. We spent 2 wonderful days on site whilst working, only pausing for the odd break to enjoy the snacks on hand. Ever meal was superb and the friendly well mannered staff made our time at the grindstone pass quickly and without delay. The 6am breakfast start was a treat for an early riser like myself! The location is quiet and arranged to insure privacy.

FABULOUS CONFERENCE - AN OASIS ON THE GARDEN ROUTE *****

Last week I spent 4 nights at Knysna Hollow on conference. I have to say it was a fabulous stay. This place is really amazing... a special oasis on the Garden Route and is so close to everything. We did not spend time out and about exploring, besides going on a sunset cruise but you can see it is so central and would be a great place to base yourself when exploring the beauty of the Garden Route.

Knysna Hollow is really a special place - you feel so welcome - the staff are so friendly and nothing is an effort. The food was great - varied and tasty from breakfast through to dinner and the tea-time snacks were a real treat fresh and tasty - well done guys.

Lovely conference venue - spacious and comfortable (even a fire place for those colder times of the year). This was a great choice of venue - a superb country estate with beautiful lush gardens that were a treat when we were on our breaks.

The accommodation was simple, but spacious and comfortable and more importantly very clean. It was good to be able to sleep well during a long conference.

All in all this was a really great week away and the whole package (location, venue, staff, food and accommodation) made the conference enjoyable and although we were really busy I felt relaxed.

POPULAR AS A CONFERENCE VENUE.... ****

The standards and facilities at Knysna Hollow are A1. The rooms and chalets are impeccably presented, the grounds are maintained to perfection, the outdoor pools and pool areas are spic and span, and if you should find that you need anything which is not already provided, the General Managers, Clive and Liesel Battell will ensure that is sourced with the utmost expediency. Breakfast on the lawn is wonderful, one is more or less surrounded by nautre, and generally the two restaurants and the ‘pub’ provide gratifying fare to suit most tastes. The rates are attractive, they are comparable to a UK / Europe city centre chain, except that here you are in the lap of luxury and tranquility. This is a location where, once you leave the lagoonside main road and drive the few hundred metres to the former Country Estate, you can switch off, sign off, and leave the rest of the world behind you. The flip side of this is, there is very little else to do here if you are holidaying. So, tuck into some fresh oysters, peruse the gardens, swim, relax, and enjoy......
