The lodge is managed by husband and wife team, Warren and Lisha Moore. HAYLEY COOPER & GRANT MURPHY

Assistant General Managers

HAYLEY joined our ranks in the second half of 2014 as our new Assistant GM. Hayley is originally from England and grew up in Surrey near London. While still living in England, Hayley worked in the hospitality industry and in 2004 decided to take a holiday to Africa. She went on Safari and was immediately drawn to the bush. On returning to England she set about changing her life course to make a permanent journey to this beautiful continent. She arrived on African shores in 2009 and immediately set out to study Field Guiding. After a short stint catering for the movie industry, Hayley was employed at another lodge in the Timbavati where she worked for 2 years before joining us here at Kings Camp. Her outgoing, caring yet professional qualities have added strength to our team.

GRANT was born and raised in Johannesburg where his talent for golf led him to completing his PGA apprenticeship and working as a golf club professional after high school. During this time he studied marketing and management for 3 years before getting the travel bug to explore the world. Grant spent the next 10 years travelling through the U.S., UK and Europe. On his return to South Africa Grant immediately started his journey to become a professional field guide and has attained his FGASA qualifications. Grant started guiding in the Timbavati in 2009 and has recently joined our ranks as an Assistant GM and senior field guide. Grant has a passion for walking safaris and is particularly strong as a birding guide. He is an incredible host with excellent people skills making him a very popular guide with our guests.

MIKE STEPHENSON

Executive Chef

Born in Durban on the East coast of South Africa, Mike moved up to Johannesburg where he completed high school. From the age of 15 years, Mike was passionate about food and decided that being a chef was the path he was destined to follow. He studied professional cookery for two years at the Fernhill hotel before beginning his career in the hospitality industry. His journey took him from Johannesburg to Cape Town where Mike worked in various establishments including restaurants,
cafes and cocktail bars.

A yearning for change saw Mike taking the position as head chef at the Nambihi Hills Game Lodge in Kwa Zulu Natal where he worked for two years. During his time at Nambiti, Mike met his fiancée Vicky and they decided to find a position together in the bush. Mike started at Kings Camp early 2015 and he has taken the standard of cuisine at Kings Camp to the next level. His natural flair and talent for cookery shines through in the dishes he serves and he leaves many a guest asking for seconds!
